Layouts from this weekend
I am taking Library of Memories over at Big Picture Scrapbooking for a second time. The class started last week. I started using the system last year for the most part. There are some areas I didn't fully implement that I hope to do this time around. I do have to say that it definitely has improved my organization. It also cuts down a lot of time of searching for what I want to work on.
We have got Jackson into a bedtime routine that has worked now for the past 3 nights. He even slept 10 hours last night. It was great, and Mike and I had a few hours for our hobbies. I made 5 layouts last night I haven't been that productive in a while.
I have not done a lot of layouts for Jackson yet. So I worked on that last night. I used the Making Memories Animal Crackers line for these 3 layouts. I added American Crafts Thickers and a couple of brads to the first one.
Our little guy turned 3 months old this past week. I love this picture I took of him last weekend. It is the look he gets on his face when he is chatting up a storm.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Mike and Jackson just minutes after Jackson was born.
Jackson is affectionately known as Peanut or Peanut Butter. Nicholas is Pumpkin Pie or Pumpkin for short. Pumpkin Pie and Peanut Butter are two of my favorite things. I can't believe how small he was. This was when he was 3 days old taken while we were waiting for me to be discharged from the hospital.
This layout was one I had started a while ago from a Basic Grey class I took at the CKC-Mesa convention last April. I never finished it, so I finished it up and found some pictures from the park that worked great with these BG Archiac papers.
This one was a page kit I picked up at the CKC Mesa convention last year. I never put it together. I loved the title that was on the sample from the kit since it went so well with these pictures. So I pretty much kept the layout the same as the sample.

2 Year & 3 Month Pictures
We took the boys to Kiddie Kandids today to get 2 year pictures done for Nicholas and 3 month pictures for Jackson. Nicholas wasn't cooperating so we didn't get any of the two boys together. Maybe next time.
Nicholas is pretty playful for his pictures usually and today was no exception.
I love this look he gets on his face right before he is going to break out into a smile.

Jackson was so serious. It was hard to get him to crack a smile.
We did coax a few out of him though.

365 2009 - Week 7
Monday, February 9
Jackson doesn't want to sleep through the night anymore. He woke up twice each of the past two nights. Not fun when I have to get up at 5 a.m. for work. After we put him to bed tonight I made several Valentine's cards while Mike played on the computer.
Tuesday, February 10
Jackson woke up 3 times last night. I am exhausted. Hopefully sleeping through the night will come soon. Mike had to feed Jackson about once every 1 to 1-1/2 hours today. He spent lots of time in that chair.
Wednesday, February 11
Maybe Jackson has been going through a growth spurt. He is eating often, but only woke up once last night. Work has been busy for me.
Thursday, February 12
Tonight was not fun. Jackson was having tummy troubles and screamed from about 6:00 to 9:30 tonight. He could not be made happy for too long, until the tummy troubles passed. Life with a baby!
Friday, February 13
Mike had to get out of the house today. It was his first venture out alone with the two boys. They did great for him. They went to Sam's Club, the LSS, the grocery store and the mall. Mike and Nicholas ate lunch at Rubio's. Nicholas ate a whole kid's meal (little piggy).
Saturday, February 14
We went took Nicholas and Jackson to a birthday party for my friend's two little girls. He had a blast. We shopped at Costco and after naptime opened Valentine's presents. Nicholas now has the concept of opening presents. It was cute watching him go through his bags.
Sunday, February 15
We had a nice day at home. The boys both took good naps, so Mike and I had a lot of free time in the afternoon. After the boys woke up we all played until dinner time.

Valentines Day
We had a fun busy Valentine's Day yesterday. We started off the day at a birthday party for the two little gifls of my friend from work, Tina. It was held at Toy Town. This is such a great place for parties for little kids. Everything is their size, the room is contained with just your party and the little one's had a blast. The kids were all about 6 and under and it was especially perfect for the 2-4 year olds.
We had to go to Costco after the party. Then after getting the boys home and down for naps I did the rest of the grocery shopping. We celebrated Valentine's Day with the boys after naptime:

Nicholas is now starting to get the idea of opening presents. He didn't need any help from us this time.
Nicholas doesn't like chocalate or candy yet, so he got Goldfish and Teddy Grahm's and was quite happy with it. This is his "mmmm" face.
Mike helped Jackson open his presents.

Valentine's Projects, Cards & a Layout
I had a lot of fun playing with Color Me Daisy's February kit making some simple cards and a couple of gift wrapping projects for Valentine's day. I usually send out Valentine's cards to family with some updated pictures of the boys. I have been busy since going back to work so I had to try to knock out some cards pretty quickly. I made a few different versions of cards and then made a few of each to make them. I love my new scallop punch (if you can't tell from how much I used it for these cards. I also love the Basic Grey Bittersweet papers in the kit. Yum!
Last weekend I scrapped this page from the January Color Me Daisy kit. The journaling is about how just a couple of months after this picture was taken, Nicholas no longer wanted to drink from a bottle anymore. This is the last picture I have of me or Mike giving him a bottle. I am just glad he gave it up on his own and we didn't have to battle over it.
Here is the card I made for Mike. Again from the CMD February kit. I used my 3" & 2" scallop punches to layer the flower and bent the edges up and inked them.
After looking at the kids cards for Nicholas and Jackson I could not bring myself to pay $3 a card for their cards. So I whipped a couple of these with some scrap's. I think they are cuter than a Hallmark card. LOL!
I had seen a lot of these wrapped candy bars on other blogs. I thought they were so cute I made these for Mike for his gifts from me and the boys. I used a bunch of BG Bitterwseet scrap's to wrap these up and then made some cones with AC Romance paper. To wrap the I Tunes cards I wrapped up one attached to a Sweetheart's box with some of the scraps from the CMD Feb kit. and I hand cut a little envelope and scalloped the edges for the other card. Mike was pretty impressed with how his gifts were wrapped. It is nice to have a DH that is apprecative of what I make.

Jackson is 3 Month's Old
I can't believe 3 month's has gone by so fast. I am back at work now and Jackson is home with Mike and Nicholas during the day. Jackson is so fun now. Smiling and cooing a lot. He can be quite talkative at times. He still is a bit fussy in the evenings but we hope that will not last much longer. Here is our big boy at 3 month's old:

365 2009 - Week 6
Monday, February 2
After 12 short weeks home with all the boys I had to go back to work today. After looking in on Nicholas still sleeping as I left, I cried. I walked into a fire drill at work, no easing back into it. Mike sent pictures of the boys to me to cheer me up.
Tuesday, February 3
The boys are all sick and I am starting to feel bad. It is so sad for Jackson especially. He is still too little to be sick. Watched American Idol tonight. Start of Hollywood Week.
Wednesday, February 4
I am sick now too. Nicholas's therapy has been cancelled the past two days because the boys are all sick. Work is crazy for my first week back. Have to finish the March kit orders and I just wanted to go to bed early.
Thursday, February 5
Nicholas is starting to feel better. He played all day, toys everywhere, everything upturned.
Friday, February 6
Today is my worst day and I had to work late. Jackson has slept through the night for over a week and decided tonight was the night to revert back to waking up in the middle of the night.
Saturday, February 7
Nicholas colored while we planned meals and the grocery list. Mike and Nicholas went grocery shopping while I spent a good chunk of the day finalizing March kits. Jackson won't go to sleep tonight and Nicholas woke up and we had to sit with him to for a while before he would go back to bed. So much for a hobby night for us.
Sunday, February 8
Nicholas won't take a nap and Jackson won't take a bottle. So much for quiet time today. It's cold and rainy out. The dog's are snuggled under a blanket snoozing until Nicholas disrupts them.
