Making Me Happy

Pretty happy with my shopping trip to Kohl's last night. I needed some things for our upcoming vacation and had a 20% off coupon. All but 2 things I bought were on clearance and the other 2 were on sale. So I got 7 pairs of shorts/capris, 6 shirts, a pair of shoes, a purse, sunglasses, a scarf and a watch for just over $150. I call that a score. Since I hate clothes shopping, that makes me happy. And it was done in just about an hour.

I was home on Monday sick with an yucky bug and Mike had taken the boys out so it was quiet. I was sitting in the chair feeling awful, but then I looked out the window and saw this dragonfly just resting on a leaf. Well what is a girl that is taking a photography class to do? Grab the camera of course....

He was pretty cooperative, even with me trying to change my settings and figure out how to do that best with the zoom lens. He even scratched his nose at one point, too bad I didn't get that.  I also played with some flower photography here...

I'm pretty happy with these straight from the camera shots. I am excited to go to full manual this week in my class. I'll share some photos to date tomorrow from the class, it is amazing what you can do with a camera when you begin to learn how to use it.

Don't you love days where it all just clicks creatively? I have had a couple recently. I really wanted to update a the banner that was hanging on our patio door for awhile. We decorated for fall over the weekend and I was inspired to finally get to it, but at first I was stumped with exactly what to do, then it started flowing.

Then again tonight, I planned to just watch Glee (which was recorded on the DVR in my scrap room). I didn't plan to do anything crafty. Then I picked up the Jenni Bowlin Limited Edition Vitange Halloween Kit that I am pretty sure I ordered the last one of....

and before I knew it I was singing along with Glee to Empire State of Mind (New York) and creating something I love.

I can only share peeks right now, because these are may be future DT projects. But I love when creativity hits and you can just jump on it. Don't you?

Something else that is making me happy this coming weekend, Bazzill.  If you live in the Phoenix area this Friday and Saturday is the Bazzill warehouse sale. I haven't gone in a few years, but I plan to head over and see what I can pick up. I'm sure I'll at least get a pizza box of cardstock (not like I need it). Click on the link for the info.

Closing Color Me Daisy and lots of catching up to do...

 I think it is time for me to say, so long to...

We have officially decided to close Color Me Daisy. Originally I had intended to cut back to every other month with a limited number of kits with no subscriptions.  Our first kit in the new format did well and sold out faster than we would have guessed. However, after having some time away from the original decision to scale back and the ability to really enjoy more of my weekends and evenings I have realized it just isn't something I want to do anymore. I'm not even sad about it anymore.

So that being said we are selling off all of what we have left in "Mystery Boxes".  The boxes are $30 plus flat rate shipping costs and each box will contain at least $100 worth of scrapping goodies. They will be filled with past kit and add on left-overs.  We have a limited number of boxes available, get yours while you can.

Business stuff out of the way...now some catching up.  Work has been busy, I have been sick with a sinus infection and ear infection that made me so dizzy I couldn't even look at the computer for a couple of days.
Mike has been cooking a lot on the grill lately and I have been scrapping (when I wasn't sick, working or finishing the last of this year's season finale's).

I was pretty happy with the American Idol season finale. I liked both Lee and Crystal and so I didn't really care who won, but I guess I was slightly pulling for Lee. I had been out of the running on my American Idol pool for a few weeks. It didn't matter who won, I wasn't going to win any money.

Now that American Idol, Desperate Housewives, 24 and Survivor are over I should have lots of time to scrap while watching Glee episodes after the kiddos are in bed.

I got my May Mosh-Posh kit a few weeks ago and I wasn't sure if I it was too girly.  But after perusing their gallery I changed my mind.  This weekend I have finished 5 layouts with the kit so far, and will probably get at least one more out of the kit bits and pieces I have left over.

I love these pictures I took last weekend of Mike reading to Nicholas. I also love my 2 new Martha Stewart border punches.

I am thinking I need to make these cupcakes again.

We've been spending a lot of time in the backyard lately, these pictures were from Mother's Day.  Nicholas likes playing with his golf club, and we like when he isn't trying to take Jackson out with it. These pictures were when he was playing with it appropriately. :)

I loved  Amy Coose's layouts in the Mosh Posh gallery, so I felt the need to scraplift a couple of them. This one is inspired by Amy's take on the MP May sketch:

I have lots more of stuff to share over the next few days, including a review a long overdue review on my CKC Mesa classes, some tasty things to share from "My Man and His Grill" and some layouts from my last Studio Calico kit.

Now I get it!

I didn't get what the big deal was...really.  But the catchy music during Idol each week including some of the songs I grew up with kept piquing my interest. And with shows winding up this month for the season, I needed something to fill the void during the summer months.  So I picked this up yesterday....




I "heart" this show. I can't say why for sure, but it is just plain fun. I watched the first two episodes last night and wanted to stay up all night watching the whole thing.

I have lots of scrappy stuff I have been doing, but I'll have to save it for another day. Life has been way too crazy lately. I got a lot of scrappy stuff done over the weekend, but didn't get any pictures taken.  Now I am debating if I want to give in for the night and go watch Glee or edit some pictures so I have new pictures to scrap.

We'll see what wins out.

Is it only Tuesday

I am already ready for Friday. We took the boys to the park tonight to tire them out before bed (I think it worked). I will be glad when American Idol is back to only an hour. I hate 2 hour tv nights. No time for anything else.

I made this layout over the weekend using the Studio Calico March kit, I love this face that Jackson makes, I call it his cheesy smile. He started doing it right around when he turned one, and still does it all the time, especially when I have the camera out. I love the wood veneer pieces that Studio Calico included in their kit this month. I misted the sun piece with Lemon Maya Mist. I can't wait to use more of this stuff.

Back to American Idol, I think that either Paige or Tim Urban are going home tonight.  Either one deserves to go, and it works out fine for my American Idol pool points, I won't be too far out of it if one of them gets the boot. But overall tonight, the show stunk. Pick better songs people. You can do better. But I think Miley Cyrus is a doll, and did alright as a mentor. She has a good amount of confidence for a 17 year old.

Off to read a few pages of my book before crashing for the night,
